International Workshop on Mobile Security 2011

October 27, 2011 - DoubleTree Hotel, Santa Monica, CA, USA

Workshop Overview

Building on the success of last year's workshop, the 2nd International Workshop on Mobile Security (WMS) will complement the MobiCASE 2011 conference. The workshop will bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss novel results and approaches in the emerging area of mobile security, a topic at the intersection of wireless communications, mobile computing and computer security.

Unlike mobile devices in the past, which were designed for the sole purpose of voice-based communication, today's phones are powerful devices that can communicate, compute, and sense. There are many emerging applications (e.g. mobile banking, mobile social networking, location navigation) associated with smartphones, mobile internet, and telecom infrastructures. Since mobile devices are always with us and they contain various sensitive data, the issues of security, privacy, and trust become increasingly important and significantly more challenging.
